1845 tithe Map of Lilley

This 1845 tithe Map of Lilley is a Fascinating glimpse into the history of the area. It shows boundarys and locations of buildings many of which still exist today. Bounded to the south by the old road to Luton now replaced by the A505 dual carriageway and to the North by Blind Lane which is now an unmade track over the top of Telegraph Hill. This track follows the line of the ancient road that later became part of the Icknield Way Roman Road. To the west the map shows the Church on West Street and to the East Offley and Little Offley are shown.
